We’re at the ferry port trying to get across the Caspian Sea. Baku is a very exotic place. There are about twelve teams here waiting to cross the Caspian via cargo ferry and on into Turkmenistan. We were hoping to be on that boat today, but unfortunately there is a problem with Pam’s visa and we are stuck in Baku for another couple of days. Hopefully we’ll resolve it by tomorrow.

With all the teams gathered just outside the ferry dock, there is a party-like atmosphere. We have not seen this many familiar faces since Vema Veche, Romania and it’s good to be with everyone again. After four hours of waiting, the teams are waved through the gates only to keep waiting on the other side of the wall. Fingers crossed that everything will be a go for us on Wednesday!
