The Make it Right foundation is expanding its affordable housing in Kansas City, Missouri with the addition of six single-family home designs. In 2013, Make it Right started the Manheim Park project, an affordable housing community for young people transitioning out of foster care, seniors and families in need. These new homes were designed by local architects with the goal of making the Mannheim Park project the “most vibrant, desirable neighborhood in Kansas City,” and will enhance the already thriving development.

El Dorado Inc created a home to accommodate the modern family with an outdoor living area, optional additional bedrooms and a roof slope optimized to take advantage of natural light. The roof is also designed to leave the maximum amount of area possible open for solar panels.

Pendulum Studio’s Devan Case explained that their contribution “merges interior and exterior surroundings of the neighborhood by accentuating the linear characteristics of an urban site.”
