After pressure from PETA, the largest fashion retailer in the world has agreed to stop selling angora wool in its stores.

Inditex, the parent company of Zara, has more than 6,400 stores around the world and it has announced Sunday that it will no longer hold any products with the rabbit-derived wool.

The announcement came after a PETA investigation in 2013 showed the horrors that rabbits endure in China, being skinned alive for their soft fur, and an online petition urging retailers to stop selling angora fur gathered more than 300,000 signatures. Other retailers like Gap, INC, Marks & Spencer, Topshop and H&M all bowed down to the animal rights organization’s request to ban the sale of angora right away but Inditex at first only put its orders on hold until it could investigate if its angora providers were guilty of any wrong doing.
