Brand: Revice

Style: Boogie Bells

Color: Blue

Price: $88

As I mentioned in my previous review of Revice‘s Paris Bells, I was sure this brand had to be too good to be true. Everything is made in the U.S. and the jeans cost less than $100? Plus, the styles are a ’70s throwback dream, and they were delivered promptly and in really cute packaging? Yep. All truth.

Fit and Fabric:

Before we go any further: SIZE UP. After sending my measurements to a Revice press representative, she recommended size 29 for me, even though I usually take 28 in other brands, and she was right. The 29 fits perfectly snug, and I’m OK with that. In these days of feel-good sizing, we could all use a little reality check once in a while if only as a reminder that your size is just a number.

The wonderful thing is, you don’t have to worry that sizing up will lead to a waist gap at the lower back. I have substantial hips and thighs (as you can see!), and these jeans LEAVE NO GAP. It’s a denim miracle.

The Boogie Bells are made of denim sourced from White Oak Mill in North Carolina, one of the top denim mills in the world. They’re 98 percent cotton and 2 percent elastane, which means a bit of stretch but not too much. They hold their shape well.

The waist is very high and they come with a cute denim sash. They are VERY long, I had to have my hemmed.

Look:

As you can see, these jeans are not for the person who wishes to blend in. They are a style statement and then some, and the statement they make is that you are way into seventies style and a free spirit of the highest order. Which works out perfectly in my case.

The sash is a very cute finishing touch, but you can also leave it off and add your own belt or go without.

Feel:

The denim is weighty, and although they contain the same amount of elastane as the Paris Bells, they feel stiffer and more substantial. They are not airplane-ride-across-the-country comfortable, but they are great for a casual night out, especially one when you won’t be sitting a lot. I won’t call them uncomfortable, but they don’t feel like jammies.
