I think the best part about writing a denim blog is getting to discover and test out new brands that I never would have otherwise. This week I’m taking the Les Halles ‘The Seventies’ skinny jean for a spin. I was attracted by the color, intrigued by the french name and curious about the fit.

The Denim

These coral-hued jeans are made of a denim unlike many I’ve tried before: very thick, and very stretchy (usually the stretchier denim is on the thin side). They’re also soft to the touch and I love that the color is sort of a East Coast beachy, washed-out coral, rather than an aggressively tropical shade. The rise is high, 9 inches, which works with such thick denim, especially when you want to tuck your shirt in. These also run longer than a Paige or a J Brand skinny, which bodes well for the leggier of the ESD readers. Considering these are currently on sale over at Shopbop for about $100, they’re a great way to get your colored skinny denim fix for spring (they also come in blue).

Fit Notes

These jeans run huge in the waist. I mean, huge. I wear a 27, and that’s what these are, but I could easily and preferably wear a 26.
