Naomi Kizhner imagines a future where our bodies have become living batteries. Developed in response to the world’s impending energy crisis, her speculative “Energy Addicts” accessories turn involuntary physical movements like blinking into electricity. The only catch? The devices must be inserted into the surface of the skin. “There are lots of developments of renewable energy resources, but the human body is a natural resource for energy that is constantly renewed, as long as we are alive,” the Israeli designer tells Dezeen. “I wanted to explore the post-humanistic approach that sees the human body as a resource.”
