THE SCHOOL UNIFORM PROJECT

The average weekly income does not compensate the cost of a school uniform in many countries and this is a reason why many parents could not afford to send their children to school. This also is often considered as an excuse to make children work, or stay at home.

To tackle this issue, ORTABLU partnered with a local NGO in Wadi Al Jamus in Lebanon by providing them updated professional sewing equipment and training on how to manufacture denim school uniforms. Moreover, these uniforms were designed by the students of SCAD – Savannah School of Art and Design.

The project:
· enabled the NGO to finance their Literacy program a,
· created local jobs empowering the community,
· helped deliver over 1000 uniforms to children in need worldwide.
