Want to know a fun little fact about Tracy from ExploRED and myself? We went to college together, and more than that, we were in the same (don’t laugh) sorority! Years later here we both are, blogging from opposite sides of the country (she’s based in Los Angeles) and catching up over our mutual love of denim. When we weren’t recalling our days of date dashes and chapter meetings, we gushed over our mutual love of Rag & Bone.

What is your denim philosophy?

To be honest, I think I wear denim more often than the average joe. I’ve never been the kind of girl that is into having tons of skirts and dresses, denim is what I always have my eye on. I remember in middle school when high-end denim became a huge trend and I begged my dad to take me to buy the 7 For All Mankind jeans with the pink “A” pockets. I think that’s the pair that started my high-end denim addiction… Nothing beats finding that pair that fits you just right!

What do you wear with your denim?

Everything! T-shirts, blouses, sweaters, you name it, I’m wearing it with my denim. Sometimes when I go out at night I wear dark wash (I don’t believe in wearing light wash at night) and dress it up with heels and some sort of top that flatters how the jeans look with the heels. During the day and at work I usually wear flats or denim tucked into boots with an over-sized top and sweater.

What are your favorite denim brands?

As of right now, my favorite denim brands are J Brand, Rag & Bone, Joe’s Jeans, Genetic Denim, SOLD Design Lab and still, 7 For All Mankind – they just fit me so well!

Do you have a very favorite pair of jeans?

My favorite pair, that I probably wear too often and people talk about me behind my back, is a pair of Genetic Denim I’ve had for about a year now. They’re skinny, super stretchy, dark wash, and go with everything. They’re my ideal pair of jeans and they are timeless!

Tell us a little about the jeans you wear the most often?

Besides the pair of Genetics, I’ve recently been into wearing jeans with prints or colors. I have this one pair of red J Brand (Japanese Twill) that I just can’t get enough of! For some reason I’ve convinced myself that they go with everything and I wear them all the time. Also loving my Bleulab Reversible jeans that are gold on one side and grey waxy on the other… can’t get much better than two pairs for the price of one.

What’s on your denim wish list?

I’m currently lusting over the black waxy G-STAR Raw skinny jeans… they’re pretty out of character for me but I just love them and think they’d be super cute during the day with high tops or at night with heels. Also want everything from the J Brand x Christopher Kane collaboration.

Do you remember the first pair of jeans you ever owned?

The first pair of jeans I ever owned were probably in 5th grade and I stole them from my sister. They were from Levi’s I believe and were way too big for me (she is 5 years older than me) but I still insisted on wearing them. Besides stealing from my sister, I always was on top of the Limited Too denim trends! HA! Oh and this was all before I asked my mom for JNCOs (Anyone else remember those? Or are we all trying to forget them?).
