Today’s denim style feature is on Sarah, the personal style blogger behind Style on the Couch.

What is your denim philosophy?

Oo I am probably a denim existentialist.  You are born, you live, you die so we need to make the most of it and live life to the full. Essentially, life is far too short to wear boring jeans.

What do you wear with your denim?

High heels or wedges that give my legs great length.

What are your favorite denim brands?

I have a serious crush on the 1969 range by Gap.  The designers know their stuff – the fit is amazing.  The denim hugs your curves and the pockets are well placed which results in such a flattering shape.

Today’s denim style feature spotlight is on Sarah of Style On The Couch.

Do you have a very favorite pair of jeans?

A few years back I bought a pair of McQ (McQ for Alexander McQueen) highwaisted bleached skinny jeans.  They are the perfect downtown cool and I adore them.

Tell us a little about the jeans you wear the most often?

Right now I’m experimenting with colour and I’m wearing my Gap 1969 skinny legging jeans in crimson a great deal.  You usually find me in monochrome so the red jeans are a real challenge for me style-wise.  I’m pairing them with nudes and neutrals for a chic and casual look.

What’s on your denim wish list?

I’ve been coveting the wide legged J Brand Bette jeans for a while.  They fulfil all my Charlie’s Angels fantasies!  Rag and Bone also have the most amazing jean leggings right now, I found a gorgeous pair with a cosmic print that are unique – these are very high up on my wish list.

Do you remember the first pair of jeans you ever owned?

I was a child in the 80s and had some cropped denim shorts!  Happily this style came full circle for me this summer as I bought myself a very similar pair from the Gap.  Say what you will about cropped styles I think they are perfect for the New York summer.  They make me come over all Carrie Bradshaw in NYC.
