This week I was fortunate enough to take a little mini-vacation up to Stowe, Vermont. This far north the fall foliage is already turning brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow. The lifestyle up here in Autumn seems to be all about getting outdoors, drinking fresh apple cider and prepping for the ski season ahead.

To say the pace of life is a more laid back than that of New York would be an exaggeration and oversimplification. Priorities are different, the economy is different – and there are gorgeous, rolling hills and farms everywhere. I tell ya, I could get used to this.

Over my very short trip, I brought just one pair of jeans – my 7 For All Mankind Josefina skinny boyfriend jeans. I paired them with my favorite shortie cowboy boots and a made-for-fall Madewell cableknit sweater. A quilted jacket over that was just the topper to fend off the major chill in the air – and embrace the New England aesthetic. The pairing of the rolled jeans and booties was just a little off – which felt just right in Stowe. Casual, comfortable and transitioning into fall nicely – just like Vermont!
