I know we’re only barely to what could be called mid-October, but doesn’t it feel like fall is kind of taking it’s slow, sweet time in arriving? The weather (why am I always talking about the weather?) has been erratic and unusual wherever I’ve been, lately. Seattle was warm, sunny and 70 degrees, New York is currently rainy and sticky.
What this means is that we’re still in that precious time before all you can do is tuck your denim leggings into knee-high boots and brace yourself against the cold. We have to grab this golden time of layering and make the most of it. That’s where my three blogger inspirations come in.
Carolyn of Hey Pretty Thing is one of my favorite Seattle bloggers, and I love that she doesn’t bow to the typical Northwest default of a fleece and boot cut jeans. Her combo of a cozy scarf, denim jacket, dress and booties is perfect for acknowledging the season while still soaking up those rare-and-precious rays.
Out in the midwest, my girl Anna of See Jane is layering double denim under a blazer with cords – a triple threat if I ever saw one.
Finally, right here in New York City, Cheetah Is The New Black‘s Alicia makes sky-high heels and boyfriend jeans look easy. Paired with a cozy sweatshirt and slouchy hat, she’s struck the perfect high-low balance.
