So speaking of mid-wash denim… Tada! I couldn’t leave you guys hanging talking all that talk about this trend without trying it for myself, now could I? These J Brand‘s are fresh from their latest fall collection, and they fit the bill for that not-too-light and not-too-dark wash. And can I tell you a secret? I wore them three days in a row this week. Yep, I’m hooked.

The Denim

So soft. Can I say it again? So soft. (This is probably why I haven’t taken them off much this week.) The denim is almost velvet-like to the touch, and with only 1% spandex they stretch, but not too much (they’re 92% cotton). The wash is new, called Blue Bell, and like I said, it fits with that mid-wash trend I’ve been crushing on lately.

The Fit

The 811 cut has always been a favorite of mine. It’s a no-nonsense jean. It’s a great length (ankle) and works well cuffed once (like I’m wearing them now). The mid-rise is my go-to of late, since it works whether you like your shirts tucked in or out.

Styling Notes

I’ve been experimenting with different looks centered around these jeans, but I keep coming back to a preppier, more classic outfit. Today was the height of that for sure – I wore these darling little driving loafers, a Madewell cable knit sweater and classic white shirt.
