In my opinion, if you were to list out all the items that Emily Schuman (Cupcakes & Cashmere) is wearing above, it would seem like an ensemble that just wouldn’t work.

• Super-slouchy Current / Elliot boyfriend jeans
• A long overcoat from BB Dakota
• A Rag & Bone baseball cap
• Black pointy-toe pumps

However, Emily makes this very menswear-inspired combination look cool, feminine and fun. I have been thinking a lot lately about investing in a cap for those “ughhhh” hair days in the winter when you still want to look a little trendy. The sleek coat and shoes give her look polish, the boyfriend jeans make it comfortable and the hat makes it totally enviable.
