Time to give the color scheme on this blog a little 180-degree twist, don’t you think? It’s been nothing but grays and blacks and head-to-toe blue, just dark, dark, dark! To ease us into that spring feeling, how about a little yellow?
The Fit:
The DL 1961 Angel Ankle crop is a true crop. These jeans feature a notch at the outside hem, and hit me a couple inches above my ankle bone with minimal tapering. As you’ll understand from my notes on the denim below, the kicker with these is the fabric.

The Denim:
Soft, stretchy and richly saturated with color – that’s how I’d describe these jeans. I actually tried a similar DL1961 jean about a year ago, but this denim feels wildly different, and the fit is much more forgiving. That’s because they’re made with a special 4-way stretch denim, and adapt to your body (58% modal / 23% cotton / 18% polyester / 1% lycra spandex).
Styling Notes:
Since a monochromatic yellow-on-yellow look wasn’t really feasible for me, I opted for a primary color scheme, mixing this rich tone with dark navy and a sweater with pops of red. I feel like quite the tomboy in this, but with a swipe of pink on my lips I felt just the right amount of feminine, too.
