Dear tomi,
You have 13 days to save one of the country’s most scenic rivers.
A private developer has a scheme to suck 81 billion gallons a year from Wyoming’s Green River and pipe it more than 500 miles, over a mountain range, all the way to Colorado.
This pipeline would devastate trout populations, protected wildlife habitats, and local tourism and recreation spots in Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. Plus, the water shipped to Colorado would be the most expensive in the state’s history.
A group called Save the Colorado is working to stop the developer before permanent damage is done. They created a petition on Change.org to tell the Colorado Water Conversation Board to say no to this $9 billion private water project. Click here to add your name before the September 13 deadline.
Known as the Flaming Gorge Pipeline, the project would irreversibly damage the Green River — which feeds into the Colorado River — and fan the flames of water conflict across Western states.
Despite being prepared to spend up to $9 billion to build the Flaming Gorge Pipeline, the project backers are asking for $150,000 in taxpayer money for a special environmental study on their terms—even as the project is already going through normal channels.
You can stop this pipeline before this project begins. Please add your name to Save the Colorado’s petition asking the Colorado Water Conversation Board to to protect our rivers and block the devastating Flaming Gorge Pipeline:

Thanks for being a change-maker,
