The sixth edition of Contemporary Istanbul, one of the most extensive modern and contemporary art events in Turkey, will take place from Nov. 24 to 27 this year.
The event aims to promote the cultural and artistic life of Turkey.
Over four days, the event will be hosting national and international galleries, artists and from all over the world, collectors, museum directors, curators, art critics, members of press and art lovers at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center and Istanbul Convention Center, according to a written statement
This year the fair can also be followed via iPhone and iPad. Also, all events in the fair will be included in a special publication of the iPhone- and iPad-based magazine, iFest. Art lovers will be able to read up on 526 artists and more than 3,000 contemporary art pieces from 90 galleries that will participate in the fair through the digital platform.
The guest of honor at this year’s Contemporary Istanbul will be Turkish painter Komet. The artist’s 70th birthday will be celebrated with an exhibition displaying more than 20 works of art.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see many different works of art and projects thanks to a selection prepared by curator Selin Turam.
