Marine animals in Italy have reason to celebrate. A dolphinarium in Remini, Italy has just shut its doors for good.

The Delfinario Rimini was first closed down last year after an inspection showed the mistreatment of dolphins. The trainers unnecessarily drugged the animals and did not provide them with enough shade and space. The place was fined $24,700 and forced to shut its doors. Now, it reapplied for its permits and was denied permission to reopen despite its announced grand plans to have new shows with dolphins, sea lions and seals.
