The Efes Pilsen Blues Festival, an autumn fixture in Turkey’s concert calendar, will start Friday and continue until Oct. 29 at venues around the country.
John Mooney, a representative of Mississippi blues music, will headline the 22nd Efes Pilsen Blues festival, but the month-long event will also feature, among others, Lucky Peterson, an American contemporary blues musician who fuses soul, R&B, gospel and rock and roll, as well as Rick Estrin and his group the Nightcats.
This year’s festival will host 24 concerts in 20 different provinces.
“Within 21 years the festival has hosted 84 groups in Turkey,” said Emre Topsakaloğlu, Efes Turkey’s communications director.
“The festival has hosted 256 musicians and a total of 338 concerts have taken place in Turkey thanks to the festival,” he dded.
The festival will visit the provinces of Adana, Hatay, Mersin, Kayseri, Konya, Antalya, Denizli, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Trabzon, Ankara, Eskişehir, Bursa, Balıkesir, Istanbul, Edirne, Çanakkale and İzmir in addition to northern Cyprus.
