Kingpins Denim show at Delhi – sponsored by Invista and  for which we  partnered with the Kingpins US , was held in the last week of April and turned out to be a successful event with both exhibitors and visitors happy and looking for more . The show was an invite only event where a select number of companies in the denim supply chain  from India, Bangladesh and Turkey were invited to join the show as exhibitors . Select and serious buyers from the denim world were invited to visit these companies . With over 140 companies visiting the show, the exhibitors had their hands full with some exhibitors having been visited by about 70-75 buyers in two days ! . Some comments from participating companies are inspiring :

Mr Aamir Akhtar – CEO Arvind Mills says :
“Congratulations on holding a wonderful Event ( calling it a show would be an understatement). With this event you have filled a void in this part of the world. We had no denim-specific platform. With India producing close to 700 million mtrs per year and the sub continent including Pakistan and Bangladesh producing close 1.5 billion mtrs, we need a credible platform to showcase our strengths. The challenge will be to maintain exclusivity, privacy and class  that is the hallmark of Kingpins. I know it is an extremely difficult and delicate task. If anybody can do it, it is ‘Team Kingpin’. Wish you all the best in this endeavor and look forward to many more shows.”
Mr Prabir Bandhopadhyaya – C.O.O    LNJ Denim says :
“This show is different than any other fair or exhibition . Selected exhibitors of Denim supply chain made the show interesting . Selected visitors from various segments like buying houses, garment exporters , brands and fashion designers made the show very busy  and happening .  Organization of Kingpins team is excellent  . We will surely exhibit in the next King Pins”
Ebru Ozadyn from Orta Anadolu , Turkey says :
“We thank you very much for your brilliant organization. ….it was a good opportunity for us to be there and meet people. We had a very successful 2-days event with several visitors and fantastic feedback about our products”
Rajesh Narkar – CMO Malwa Industries says :
“This was a great initiative and brought the denim industry together at one platform. The show was very well organized and the atmosphere was totally different from other shows . We had a very good number of buyers visits – something which we did not expect in the first show”.
Nuria Estape from Clariant says :
“Clariant is really happy to have joined the first KingPins show in Delhi. King Pins Delhi has been a great platform to reach a lot of relevant people in Indian denim market as well as other close textile markets. The number of people at this first edition in India surpassed all our expectations! We noticed a great interest on our Advanced Denim Concept based on the sustainable denim dyeing production of extremely less water consumption and practically no waste water discharge. It’s really a good news for a region of water shortages and more strict control of water pollution.”

Ganesh – GM Marketing Bhaskar Industries says :
“In true business sense this was a much needed show which was more focussed on Denims and it turned a lot of heads. We cannot ignore the efforts of all participants who went an extra mile inviting guests of all levels to this venue and created a value for KINGPINS in India. Honestly for INDIA, it was nobody and nowhere. But after this show everyone talks about KINGPINS DENIM show and the word Denim and KINGPINS now compliment each other bigger and better. Now every denim mill would like to participate in all events of KINGPINS and it was evident from the industry sector.”
The show was not only  business but also lot of fun as the After Party on the first day had a number of exhibitors and guests dancing together in  a fun filled atmosphere.  Here are some cool photographs from the show – visible only in online presentation .

The Kingpins show will now be a regular feature for the denim industry in India and will be held twice a year and is expected to be a convergence point for the denim industry in India as well as for those international buyers who source denim products from this region.
The next show is scheduled to be held at Bangalore towards the end of the year.
