An unusual fashion item at this year’s Bay Area Maker Faire came from Wood Thumb in the form of a tie. A wooden tie, that is. You’d most definitely be the talk of the office if you came to work wearing one.

Wood Thumb has come up with possibly the longest lasting fashion accessory we’ve come across. The ties are made of reclaimed wood from various places like construction and demolition sites, and they’re crafted by hand.
Made with sections so that it stays flexible, the ties are the typical shape we’re used to seeing and one might not even realize it is wooden until walking up closer and noticing the grain, holes and knots from the reclaimed wood.
The ties run $34 and come in large (for tall folks) and small (for us shorter people).
