As the public backlash against Kim Kardashian approaches its tipping point, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animalsannounced plans to dedicate a billboard to another of the reality star’s questionable choices: fur. Set to debut on the corner of Beverly Boulevard and Sweetzer Avenue in Los Angeles next month, the billboard will feature a fur-clad Kardashian next to a pair of fox cubs, along with a message that reads “Kim: These Babies Miss Their Mother. Is She on Your Back?”

FUR PAS

“Kim knows that animals on fur farms are beaten, electrocuted, and often skinned alive. We’ve explained it to her, and she’s watched avideo exposé that was filmed inside fur farms,” says Lisa Lange, senior vice president of PETA, in a statement. “When Kim is ready to put an end to her relationship with fur, PETA will be happy to take her discards and donate them to the homeless.”

Ironically, Kardashian’s younger sister Khloe posed in the buff for PETA’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad campaign in 2008. And the animal-rights group, in its typical over-the-top fashion, couldn’t resist a dig at the divorcee-to-be’s recent troubles. “PETA hopes that the prominent billboard will finally be enough to convince Kim…to divorce herself from fur and say ‘I do’ to a more compassionate wardrobe,” Lange adds.
