Prince William has teamed up with the makers of Angry Birds to host a new game on the addictive app to raise awareness about illegal poaching.
The new tournament, which launches today, is called “Roll with the Pangolins,” and highlights the endangered anteaters who are hunted for their meat and their scales in Asia and Africa. According to the Duke of Cambridge, the pangolins are near the brink of extinction, with one million of them having been snatched from the wildlife in the last 10 years.
The prince’s charity, United for Wildlife, is organizing the initiative with Angry Birds. The charity, which was implemented to put an end to illegal wildlife trade, cites that 96 elephants are killed per day for their tusks and hide, while there just over 3,000 tigers remain in the wild.
