One hundred thirty-four species that are in danger are disappearing one by one. WWF Turkey aims to stop this annihilation with the ‘Turkey’s Life’ campaign

The ‘Turkey’s Life” campaign, initiated by WWF Turkey one year ago, aims to protect species that are in danger. It is in its second stage. WWF Turkey asks that people donate five Turkish Lira to support local NGOs’ projects for the protection of nature by sending a text message to 8486.

WWF Turkey’s general manager, Tolga Baştak, said “The speed at which species are being lost is much faster than any we’ve seen in the past. Every year, fifty thousand species and every day one hundred and fifty to two hundred species disappear forever. Unfortunately, there are one hundred and thirty four species on the Red List of Threatened Species of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Turkey. Mediterranean seal, waldrapp, trionyx triunguis, vanellus gregarius, rana holtzi are about to disappear. Tens of thousands of species, such as moufflon and fallowdeer, are in danger. Our goal is to cease this process of annihilation.”
