Mazel tov and congratulations to Tara St. James, friend of Ecouterre, zipper-upcycler extraordinaire, and an ah-may-zing designer, for snagging the 2011  Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award for Sustainable Design. Backed by Ecco Domani Wines of Italy, the EDFF also tapped Bibhu Mohapatra, The Lake & Stars, M. Patmos by Marcia Patmos, and Mandy Coon in the women’s design category; Native Son in the men’s design category; and Pamela Love in the accessories category. The seven winners will each receive a $25,000 grant toward a runway show or presentation during New York Fashion Week. Way to go, Tara!
