When most folks see a rusty bike rotting in a scrapyard, they see little of value, but Krystal O’Mara sees potential. O’Mara is a self-taught artist and craftsman, and she specializes in producing original lamps and furniture from old bike parts, farm equipment, reclaimed lumber, scrap metal, skis, and other found objects. O’Mara taught herself how to weld and began creating home decor from bike parts in her West Texas home in 2010. She later branched out from tables to include lighting fixtures, chairs, and a variety of other products. O’Mara’s furnishings are now available through her ReMain Eco Designs Etsy shop.
