There may not have been many vegan alternatives in the sixties, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pinch the decades style.
LA Racked reports on a shoe line you’re about to fall in love with, by Susi Studio. The LA based brand founded by creative director Bianca Moran offers “vegan footwear for the modern woman,” with a retro flare. It’s run by women, made for women, and doesn’t exploit the use of non-human women. We approve.
They’re kicking off with a summer 2016 collection that offers everything from Mary Janes to platforms. With names like Brigitte, Delores, and Miss Mary, it’s easy to channel your favourite sixties starlet when choosing a pair. Prices range from $150 to $250 for the rubber, recycled polyurethane, cotton, canvas, microsuede, and hemp based footwear.
The self described feminine, flirty, and versatile line launched this week, and is already set on inspiring others. LA Racked shared that Susi Studio offers a “Start Today” campaign, supporting “women of all walks of life to take the first step to pursue their passion,” like Bianca has. Erin McKenna of NYC’s famous vegan and gluten free bakery Erin McKenna’s Bakery (formerly BabyCakes) is set to be the campaign’s first star.
