We know we’re supposed to drink lots of water each day, and we know that plastic water bottles are bad for the environment, but what if we don’t fully trust the tap water? The answer lies in personal water filter bottles, like this one, from Revolve.
The Tap Water Filter Bottle is a BPA-free 27 oz stainless steel personal water bottle with a twist – it not only carries your water, but it filters it for you as you drink. Drinking through the flip-up straw pulls water through the proprietary filter medium and delivers contaminant-free, clean tasting water, no matter where you are.
The Revolve bottle was designed for use with tap water coming out of municipal supply lines, and it can remove up to 99.99% of all contaminants in tap water, including microbial cysts, chlorine and its byproduct, traces of pharmaceuticals, industrial pollutants, and heavy metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic, aluminum, cadmium, and chromium. The filter also removes up to 99.99% of all volatile and synthetic organics (VOCs), which might include petroleum byproducts, pesticides, and herbicides.
Each filter unit can produce over 100 gallons of clean water, eliminating the need for thousands of plastic bottles during its life. Once you change the filter out for a new one, the old filter can be sent in to Revolve to be recycled.
The bottle is not intended for use as a filter for raw water from other sources. Available in three colors for $39.95 at Revolve, or if you have a compatible bottle already, the filter unit is available separately, for $24.95.
