The Sunshine Canyon House in Boulder is a testament to rebirth. The home is sited on a property that was originally a dense forest of pine and fir trees scorched to the ground because of a forest fire four years ago. All that remained on the land were granite outcroppings and steep slopes. Boulder-based Renée del Gaudio Architecture studio designed an expertly-sited and beautiful new home that harkens back to the area’s original mining and agricultural heritage; the home also responds to the recently revealed vistas and barren terrain with innovative materials and an open plan.
