Designer Stuart Haygarth creates dazzling functional art entirely from upcycled, discarded objects. For the past decade Haygarth has collaged toys, auto parts, and even eye glass parts into luxurious light fixtures that add new significance to overlooked objects.

Haygarth collects large quantities of discarded objects, sorts and categorizes the parts. For example, in his collection of pendant lamps called , objects found on the beach are arranged into large orbs with a central light source. Haygarth says that “the sphere is an analogy for the moon which effects the tides which in turn wash up the debris.”

Additional pieces in Haygarth’c collection of work include truly unique combinations of colorful materials.is made up of over a thousand pairs of prescription glasses. In his Haygarth re-appropriated objects that were confiscated from passengers boarding British Airways flights.

Originally from Lancashire, in the north of England and now based in Berlin, Stuart started his career as an illustrator and graphic designer working for brands including Sony, Porsche, Penguin Books and the BBC.
