TOMS is teaming up with National Geographic for a new special edition collection that is sure to be the cat’s meow.
The Big Cats Collection includes limited-edition footwear, glasses and a backpack, all of which will feature images from Nat Geo’s archives as well as design elements that are representative of big cats (think leopard and paw prints).
The purr-fect collection is made possible through the TOMS Animal Initiative, a program that allows the company to partner with nonprofit animal conservation organizations to drive awareness and funding for global animal protection. This year the One for One Company joined with National Geographic to help with its efforts to protect big cats, including lions, leopards and tigers. The organization will use a portion of the net proceeds to support nonprofit work in cultural preservation.
“When I learned that wild lions are at risk of being extinct, it inspired me to start the TOMS Animal Initiative,” said Heather Mycoskie, TOMS Chief Animal Lover, in a statement. “Big cats in the wild are disappearing at an alarming rate, and this collection draws attention to the critical need to protect these majestic creatures for generations to come.”
The collection will be available for Canadians Sept. 15. For everyone else, the products will hit TOMS stores and TOMS.com sometime later this year.
