In Ghana, one man’s trash isn’t just another man’s treasure—one man used that waste to build the largest and oldest house made from recycled and reclaimed material in West Africa. Built by Ghanian junk architect Sammy Mensah Ansah, the Wheel Story House comprises 12 apartments cobbled together from a mishmash of landfill-bound parts. Ansah completed his artistic masterpiece over fifteen years ago in Accra, where he continues to upcycle Ghana trash in a bid to clean up the environment.
