In my designs, I strived to create a uniform that embodies style and simplicity, versatile wearability, and the option to transform as the student grows. I have included drawstring waists in all of the girls’ dresses so that sizing isn’t an issue and the design will be able to fit a broader range of ages and body types. The hem on the dresses and boys’ shorts is long, and has the option to be taken out and re-sewn to lengthen the garment. The sleeves on two of the sets have the option to be rolled up and buttoned to accommodate for the weather and the preference of the child who wears the uniform. All of my garments are to be made solely from denim, besides the buttons and drawstrings. There aren’t many complicated details added to the garments, so that they will be easier to make and require less denim fabric. I want the uniforms to be as resourceful as possible, meaning that materials required for each garment will not be excessive, production will not be complicated, and they will be able to have the longest possible use for the wearer. Each set of designs is two-toned in color. I differentiated the two tones by leaving one white and coloring the other beige. Actual colors of the garment will vary depending on the denim options.
