In our designs we wanted to mostly focus on functionality, but also be innovative and come up with something new. Our girls’ look consists of a short sleeve top and a skort. The top has a drawstring sleeve that will cinch up when needed. We thought this was essential for the climate. It also has button closures. We decided on a skort as opposed to a skirt because it is easier to play in and is more functional. It has a button closure that can be adjusted and also features double pockets. The backside of the denim is used as a trim on the outside of the pocket. Our boys’ look has a shirt with a button closure and sleeves that roll up or down, which will help give room for growth and will also work well with the climate. A pocket detailing and a stripe decoration (made of the reverse side of the denim) are also featured. The short in this look are similar to the skort featuring the double pocket and the same detailing. Extra length is added in the shorts and skort to leave room for growth in the uniforms.
