The same company that made it possible to turn any photo into a custom piece of clothing is launching the world’s first ready-to-wear collection of three-dimensionally printed shoes. “Myth,” the brainchild of Continuum Fashion founder Mary Huang, already has its first design available for purchase: the four-inch “Laurel Tree”, a wedge-sandal, inspired by Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s statue of Apollo and Daphne, that includes a ballerina-like ribbon for tying around the ankle. Other designs, including flats and boots, will be “gradually released” for preorders after tests and finishing touches are complete, according to Huang.
