This clever recycled Kalamata Spotlight is a directional floor-based lamp with an industrial edge. Created by Ori Ben-Zvi, the innovative design gives a 10-liter olive tin a second life by turning it into a fully functional lamp. The only materials Ben-Zvi used were the original tin, reclaimed oak floorboards and aluminum signs. If you’re a fan of this awesome recycled lamp then cast your vote for it in the Bright Ideas Lighting Design Competition!

The Kalamata Spotlight is constructed from scrap wood sourced from local dumpsters – the designer even reduced transportation emissions by sourcing the wood close to the Ubico Studio, where he works. The spacious tin contains all of the lamp’s electrical wiring, enabling it to use eco-efficient LED bulbs of any shape or size.
