The Mayor knew we were in town and invited us for tea. He expressed support for the initiative and talked to us about the hardship of running a village in poverty and with a very small government budget. He made us taste the local Olive Oil and explained how it’s sold in bulk at a little over cost . He told us about the polluted water that cannot even be used to wash oneself. Most improvements to the village come from private donations or International NGOs. UNICEF has many programs in place in the region of Wadi al Jamus. Hopefully, the media coverage of our Social Mission will help attract more donors.
