But it’s not! At the recent Kingpins denim-sourcing conference in Amsterdam, Adriano Goldschmied (Diesel, AG, Goldsign, Citizens of Humanity) announced his latest venture: a new brand called Acynetic that he created when he became alarmed one day while accompanying a friend picking up his daughter at school. All the moms were wearing workout leggings. Ten years ago they were all wearing jeans.

His response is a line of clothing that looks like denim, but is made of sport fabric. Asyndetic is taking athleisure to another level with knitted separates and outerwear made with indigo yarn combined with a spandex product made with circular knitting machines—which means no seams and more comfort. Here are a few sneak peeks. The debut collection is slated for a spring 2016 release. I have to say I thought this sounded terrible when I first started reading about it. Then I saw the photos and go really excited! I cannot wait to wear those flared pants to my dance class—not to mention as a work-from-home option that’s not sweatpants.
