I love layering, I love seasonal changes, and I love long pants. Really, I do.

Sometimes though, I get nostalgic for that time, about two months ago, when the city was all about exposed arms, open-toe shoes, shorts, and escaping to the beaches of Brooklyn to cool off on the weekends. We’ve pretty much left those days behind in the Northeast, but elsewhere it’s all sunshine, bare legs and not a jacket in sight.

Directly west, Tara of The Wonder Girl is enjoying the best time of year to be in San Francisco, in a darling embroidered chambray shirt from Free People, tucked into a little mini skirt with platform sandals. It’s a playful mix that appropriately nods to the time of year while still embracing those balmier temperatures.

On a trip to the island of Ibiza, Julie of Sincerely, Jules is giving me serious travel/beach/life envy in her destroyed white denim shorts and striped top.

Nancy of Adore to Adorn is based in the Bay Area but visited sunny, warm Los Angeles, and basically got to dress like it was still the middle of summer. I’m kind of obsessed with her scalloped-edge romper with a denim shirt on top – such a great double denim look!
