Although the official first day of summer isn’t until tomorrow, our unusually warm spring brought out our seasonal best a little early. New York wasn’t the only city feeling the heat – I’ve spied warm weather staples on bloggers across the country (and beyond).

One trend I’ve noticed consistently as Mother Nature has been dialing up the temperatures? All the stylish girls sporting sassy little denim shorts with seriously tall shoes. As someone who’s never shied away from a short pair of shorts, I’ve usually paired them with flat sandals, sneakers or little skimmers. Call me modest but I mean, that’s a lot of leg! What I’ve learned from these bloggers is that you can still look chic and classy while showcasing your killer gams – it’s all about balance.

Pairing your shorts with an oversize, blouse-y, not-very-revealing top is key. I love the bright coral hue of Layla from Chic Chef‘s top, as well as her neutral wedges. (A wedge sandal is a great way to make your legs look amazing but keep your look more grounded.) Jessie, the Spanish blogger of Seams For A Desire wore her light wash shorts with a men’s plaid shirt, which offsets her blue suede pumps perfectly.

Raving Fashionista left her top un-tucked which gives her outfit further laid-back appeal, but her matching red wedges and statement necklace pull everything together. Daniela of Nany’s Klozet is based in Miami where short-shorts are practically part of the uniform, and I love how she’s paired her very distressed pair with a flowing white blouse and like Layla, neutral wedges.
