I just broke out my white jeans for the first time this summer and it filled me with joy – white denim strikes a certain crisp, fresh mood and always forces me to polish up my look towards Ralph Lauren-like American perfection. But this same mood also presents a problem: white denim just doesn’t have that raw, get-it-dirty feel that I associate with the blue stuff … and besides, I can’t quite picture a white chambray shirt having the same everyday versatility as the original.
Although the idea of bleached denim might send 80’s-inspired chills down your spine, the new light wash denim tends to be more uniform in color and walk that perfect line between white and the real thing. I love the color layered with white cotton pieces, and of course it works great with true blue.
Here are a few fresh options if you’re inspired to add the shade to your palette:

1. Rag & Bone/JEAN The Skinny Jean ($187)
2. True Religion Cameron Boyfriend Jean ($231)
3. Candela Elizabeth Denim Shirt ($198)
4. Maison Martin Margiela Denim Flat Sneakers ($725)
5. 7 for All Mankind Denim Jacket ($245)
