What’s your denim philosophy?
While I love feminine dresses and silky skirts, there’s something about denim that is so undeniably timeless and effortless. Like a classic trench or little black dress, no woman should be without a great fitting pair of jeans. They’ll take you just about anywhere you need them to–from riding on bikes paired with a Breton striped tee for Parisian chic to a night out on the town with sky-high heels and a chic blazer. And what I love most about them–everyone has at least one pair in their closet that makes them feel like a million bucks–they’re universally fabulous.
What do you wear with denim?
What don’t I wear with denim is probably more apropos! Anyone who’s close to me knows that I’m a sucker for relaxed, oversized silky blouses (read: obsessed with Equipment tops) so pairing the volume down with some skinny jeans and some killer heels is my (almost) daily uniform. Also on frequent rotation is my chambray button front blouse which I’ve yet to find something it doesn’t pair well with. Full skirts, front knotted over dresses, with cut-off shorts for an all denim look — you name it, I’ve probably tried it!
What are your favorite brands?
I’m obsessed with a recent pair of skinny jeans from Zara, but also love anything by Madewell and J. Brand. The fit and wash never disappoint!
Tell us about the jeans you wear most often.
I have the most beat-up pair of Levi’s cut-off shorts that have seen one too many summers up at Lake Tahoe. They have just the right amount of distress and fraying to them that I never consider it truly summer until I’ve pulled them out of storage. But let’s be honest — I’ll wear them during the fall and winter too with tights underneath!
What is on your denim wishlist?
I’ve been on the hunt (for pretty much most of the summer!) for the perfect air of dusty rose colored skinny jeans. If anyone has any leads, let me know!
