Was it just last fall that red was the denim color du jour? We were all clamoring for that bold, bright, traffic-stopping red in hues that varied from rich fire-engine red to a more orange-infused tomato shade.

Allow me, if I may, to make a prediction for Fall 2012: Berry. I think this Autumn is going to see a more downplayed take on the vibrant denim colors we were so keen on last year. From washed out to densely dyed, berry is a versatile color that’s easy to wear and easy on the eyes.

As exhibited by the above street style snaps, you can pair berry and dark pink denim with everything from olive green to white, prints, stripes – you name it. Right now, in that transitional time when we’re all thinking about fall but living in summer, we can incorporate the color before we have to start hiding away our skin.
