Sometimes I feel like pre-fall is the lost and forgotten seasonal collection each year. It comes right before the holidays when you’re either fully engrossed in winter or shopping for resort. (Are you shopping for resort? If so — take me with you to that tropical place!)

For those of us still in that cold-weather state of mind, the pre-fall collections offer a look ahead at how we’ll be layering next fall, and provide some inspiration for getting ahead of the curve now. One of the main themes across some of the collections was a biker babe all grown up.

The Diesel Black Gold collection featured a sophisticated take on edgy pieces, coated denim, loads of leather and sleek finish. Channel the look now with moto jeans, a great leather jacket and black leather booties. It’s all about layers of black and dark denim – slicked hair optional.
