Oh boy ! When we said: “Can you arrange for some finger food to be served at the ceremony?”, we had no idea we would unleash such a feast!!! It was some of the best local food we have had and, yes, food is a great unifier. All of the

sudden the ‘stiffness’ was gone and people got animated, talking and getting closer to each other. No need for translation any more. The Ladies of the NGO outdid themselves, as usual, and made the party an unforgettable one. It was hard to leave and say our goodbyes. We all feel WAJ has become our second home away from home. We will go back there in a couple of weeks and meet some of the families and their children in their homes and talk to them about their lives and their dreams. We will update the website with a series of ‘village portraits’. Stay tuned.
