Brazil, for a while has been more than a hot vacation spot. As Brazilian designers make their way to the northern hemisphere (ie. Alexandre Herchcovitch) it’s becoming apparent that Brazil has a lot more to offer than just shoes (though I  really love Alexandre Birman and Schutz). Like Australian fashion, Brazilian fashion has been off the radar because of geography, and with their emerging economy, Brazil is definately one to watch.

The thing that I found most interesting about Sao Paulo Fashion Week was that almost every designer had a denim look. Whereas in the Big 4 fashion weeks, denim makes an appearance every now and then. What I saw in the runway looks that denim isn’t just jeans either, that it’s worked into the runways as any other textile, creating new ways of thinking about our favorite fabric. I always knew denim was made for high fashion!
