On Friday I posted about returning to a more classic, simple denim look (jeans and a white shirt). A little bit of that paired-down mood has carried over into this week too. Maybe I’m a little exhausted from all the prints and colors. Who am I kidding? I’ll probably never tire of those completely, but at least for now I’ve been pulling on my dark rinse skinny jeans or distressed boyfriend jeans and letting my top do the talking.

Floral jeans are just about one of the biggest denim trends going right now, and I don’t hate it. Florals in general are really having a moment. Remember that line from Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” I always think of it when I talk about floral this and floral that. Anyway, I really am on a kick for all things of the garden variety, most especially a floral blazer.

I love the white background and dark piping of this one from Cynthia Rowley, and the bold colors of this Alice + Olivia jacket. The bold botanical print on this camilla and marc jacket would be perfect with slouchy, relaxed denim, and the cropped Elizabeth and James piece on the far right is begging for a day of shopping, and denim shorts!
