Ladies and gentlemen (are you out there, gentlemen?) I have found them: my perfect pair of white jeans. Can you believe it? I hardly can. White jeans are a wardrobe staple no matter the season (see winter white jeans here and here), and finding just the right pair that works for you can be a serious undertaking. Too tight, too long, too sheer, too much pocket visibility – the issues are endless, am I right?

Everyone’s body is different, so I think that finding a pair of white jeans that suits you is a totally individual experience. However, I think there are two key traits anyone should look for in their white jeans. They are: thick denim and minimal front pocket visibility. After trying many (many) pairs, I have found my happy place with, not surprisingly, Paige.

The Denim

These Skyline Skinny Jeans in ‘Optic White‘ are 99% cotton and 1% spandex. They’re nice and thick, with only a wee bit of give. After wearing them around for a day or so, the waist gave a bit (which I like) as did the denim around the front pockets (for that wrinkled, casual and lived-in feel). The best part is that you really can only see the front pockets (which are not as deep as a regular jean pocket) if you’re really looking. The bright white wash and thick denim expertly minimize pocket visibility.

The Fit

For my boyish shape (lack of hips, flat but), Paige jeans really work. The smaller, lifted back patch pockets give my petite derriere a little lift and a little life. The 8″ rise is a mid-rise on me, and I prefer that in a warm weather jean (perfect for a casual front tuck with soft t-shirts). The Skyline cut hits right at my ankle with a true skinny jean opening (not jegging, not straight leg), and they’re perfect for doing a little roll to show off your shoes or take a walk on the beach (dreams…).

Styling Notes

Wearing white jeans really couldn’t be easier – they look good with everything. I mean everything. Today I paired them with this Madewell chambray shirt for a denim-on-denim look with a twist. The twist being my jazzy little DV by Dolce Vita oxfords. I won’t even say any more on styling white jeans because pretty much anything you wear them with is going to look right. They’re timeless, seasonless and a must-have a complete denim wardrobe.
