If you haven’t had the importance and amazingness of chambray shirts drilled into your brain by me enough – don’t worry. I’m back today with fresh new reasons to love this all-year closet staple. While you can (and should) make a chambray shirt work all in any season, this spring you’ve got especially good reason to expand your horizons into new colors and styles.
Baggy: Personally, I love wearing giant shirts like this un-tucked with skinny, skinny pants, but you can really give the Jonathan Simkhai baggy chambray shirt style by tucking it into a full or high-wasited skirt, as shown.
Sleeveless: I can’t get enough of a sleeveless button-down shirt during any season (they’re perfect for layering) but spring is really their time to shine. I love the one from Cheap Monday – it’s long, lean and simple.
Patchwork: This isn’t the first time patchwork denim has made an appearance on ESD, but the iteration from Maison Scotch is playful and wearable in the best ways. (Speaking of, I also love this contrast collarless shirt from findersKEEPERS.)
Ombre: The colorful denim shirt from Free People pretty much screams… Summer! Bike rides! Wear me with white jeans! Whether over your swimsuit or tucked into cropped jeans, this is a casual, warm-weather must.
Do you prefer a classic chambray or are you ready for a shake up?
