As you’re reading this, I am actually something like 30,000 feet in the air, probably somewhere over Colorado. I’m headed home to Seattle for a long weekend of rest, relaxation, and relaxed denim (natch). Before I can plant myself firmly on my parents couch in a pair of boyfriend jeans and one of my high school hooded sweatshirts – I have to get there first. Which means a trip to the ever-stressful JFK airport.

My default is always to just wear black leggings and a gigantic tops and tons of layers, with flat, easy-to-take-off shoes. Clearly, celebrities don’t really take that route most often. (Stilettos through security? Really?) However, I feel inspired by their pulled-together looks that usually center around a great pair of jeans.

Here are a few of the many ways our favorite lady celebs rock denim for the friendly skies:

2.Terri Hatcher: Pointy-toe pumps and distressed flared jeans – with an embellished coat

3. Diane Kruger: Incognito-chic in dark denim, a jaunty scarf and straw hat

4. Jennifer Aniston: Relaxed jeans, white sneakers and a structured blazer

5. Miranda Kerr: Layers denim leggings, a chambray shirt and sweater with wedge sneakers
