By Ann of Holier than Now,

So I don’t really dole out true styling advice … I feel confident recommending this item or that, but when it comes to putting together outfits with thatje ne sais quoifactor, I just don’t think I have the gene.

I was surprised, therefore, to come out of a “nothing to wear crisis” the other day with a new realization, a great outfit, and a super simple styling tip. Here it is:

TAKE EVERYTHING NEUTRAL YOU HAVE AND PUT IT ON

I’ve had some of these inspiration photos in my folder for a while, and I guess they finally sunk in.

There’s something incredibly warm and snuggly about layers of creams, tan, and beige. You can branch out to dirty pastels and true browns as well. It’s amazing how coordinated and chic these outfits look! No one will know you simply took the “pale” section of your closest and threw it on the bed.

You only need basics like white jeans, a cream sweater, and a camel coat, you’re all set … but if you’d like to add to your selection, here are a few great pieces.

1.Rich & Skinny Legacy Skinny Jeans in Rose Dust($121)

4.Three Dots Long Sleeve Cowlneck Sweater in Taupe Sand($78)
